Liberalised Remittance Scheme

LRS limit tracker & PAN check

Every resident individual can send up to USD 250,000 abroad each financial year (April–March), counted against their PAN across all banks. Log your remittances to see what's left and the TCS you'll pay.

Where the official figure lives. Since 1 January 2026, banks and money changers check your PAN-wise LRS usage directly in RBI's central system (CIMS) before each remittance. RBI doesn't offer this check to the public, so ask your bank's forex desk for your official usage. TCS collected shows in your Form 26AS / AIS on the income tax portal. This tracker is your own record to plan ahead.

PAN check for LRS

Is the PAN valid for LRS? Only an individual's PAN can be used.

Checked on your device only, never sent or saved. This confirms the format and holder type. To confirm the PAN is active and linked to Aadhaar, use Verify Your PAN on the Income Tax e-filing portal. An inoperative PAN attracts higher TCS.

TCS rates used (FY 2026-27 onwards)

No TCS on the first ₹10,00,000 sent in a financial year. Above that: education and medical 2% (5% until March 2026), education paid from a loan 0%, everything else 20%. The tracker counts the ₹10 lakh across all your remittances, which is the cautious view; a bank applies it to what you send through that bank. TCS is not an extra cost: claim it against your income tax. More in the regulatory hub.
